It's sketch Monday and I'm here today to share a sketch with all of you. I love sketches, but my projects tend to look nothing like the original. Since I wanted my layout to resemble my sketch somewhat I cheated a little and put together my layout first and then made a sketch. :)
I challenge myself to do a few things when creating: 1- I wanted to use the Christmas papers that were still laying on my scrap desk, but use them in a non holiday layout. 2- Use the cut file I created for these photos.
Merry Little Christmas Pattern Paper Holly Bough / Merry Little Christmas Pattern Paper Wassail / Merry Little Christmas Pattern Paper Baubles / Merry Little Christmas Pattern Paper Ornaments / Merry Little Christmas 6x6 pad / Collecting Moments Pattern Paper Hallmark / Merry Little Christmas Sticker Fundamentals / Merry Little Christmas Button Set / Merry Little Christmas ticket roll / Collecting Moments Large Decorative Tags / Timbergrove Patterned Envelopes
We have introduced my littlest into the world of giving knuckles. I took these pictures on a family trip this fall. How sweet are his little hands?!
I mimicked the movement of giving knuckles with the triangles pointing into my layout. I repeated it several times down the center block in three different areas. The design I backed with different pattern papers from the Merry Little Christmas Collection. The bottom half of my layout I layered some fun tags, envelopes, and stickers under the journaling block. To finish out my title I cut the word "giving" and highlighted the triangle shapes by outlining them with a white gel pen.
Here is the card I made following a similar design.
Merry Little Christmas 6x6 Pad / Merry Little Christmas Sticker Fundamentals / Merry Little Christmas small decorative tags / Collecting Moments Patter Paper Hallmark
The main emphasis is down the middle of my card. I also cut the sentiment from kraft cardstock with a similar triangle pattern and used 6x6 papers behind the cut.
Thanks so much for stopping by and if you decide to try this sketch be sure to link up to our Facebook page because we would love to see your work!
