Hi guys! I hope you all are having a fantastic December!! Yes, I said it…. December.  I can’t believe it either, how is it already the end of the year?! Time sure does fly when you’re having fun, and I’m hoping to bring a little more fun to your lives today with a super fun layout!

But before I get started I want to share with you my inspiration for said layout. At about the same time I got this assignment I noticed this little photo that you see below… isn’t it adorable?

 

I wish I could say that this is my house but alas, it is not. But I’m still in love with this awesome color scheme, so when I got the assignment to make a layout inspired by everyday life, I knew I wanted to use this photo right away!

Now I know that I added in some teal, but I just couldn’t help myself. Those of you who follow my blog know that I have a love / love relationship with anything navy or teal, so you know this was right up my alley!

Oh and I’m not sure if you can tell but I put glitter glue on the “life” part of the layout to make it really pop.

I also saw this layout, which I’m slightly obsessed with the big die cut and the photo strips, so I decided to incorporate both into my layout.  I mostly used the new Be.Loved. collection, which by the way I’m also obsesses with, and I threw in a little bit of Trendsetter for the navy bits.

 

I really loved adding a ton of layers into my page this time around. Sometimes I find it really difficult but this layout came together so quickly that it was a breeze!

 

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I want a thousand pieces of this woodgrain paper…. It’s the perfect touch to this wintery layout!

Everyday Scrapbooking with Greta

Hey everyone!

I'm here today with an double page layout focusing on Everyday Life. I had been looking through some old fall photos and found a reoccurring theme of our trips to a local orchard. I thought it would be fun to do a layout of those photos over the years. I picked out a few favorites from the past 5 years or so and got busy! I used the versatile Happy Go Lucky collection as the colors really fit with my fall theme.

Since I was including lots of photos on this layout, I really tried to make them the focal point so I choose papers that would really compliment them and make them shine. I loved this tonal red chevron paper as the background for my photos. It created a vibrant backdrop without being distracting. The brown polka dot base papers helped to ground those red pieces and the yellow plaid strip gave the layout a bit of pop and created a great landing spot for my journaling that I typed on a piece of the 4x6 Brag Book paper. 

 

Finally, I added in a few relevant embellishments. I love the wood title piece to bring texture and dimension to the layout.

I used the small number stickers to add the years to my photos. It's a great way to show the chronological order without being distracting. And finally, I added in a few pieces of the ephemera and button packs to help the layout flow.

Scrapbook the Everyday with Jennifer

Hello, it's Jennifer Larson, sharing my latest layout documenting my everyday life. This time I decided to focus on an element of my everyday life that seems to recur: the busy time.

The week at the end of October seemed particularly, overwhelmingly busy. We were rushing from lessons to birthday to practice to musical concert, in between all of my normal weekend business of grading student papers. I spent the week taking photos before I dashed off to the next thing. Here's the page I made:

I printed my photos 4x3, a standard Project Life size. Though I don't do Project Life, the size is convenient for fitting many pictures easily onto a page. I have a folder on my computer with many PSE templates I've made that fit several smaller photos onto a 4x6 print; that way I can print locally (and quicker!). I don't print on my home printer because it's not the best quality.

 

Here's some details:

When I cut the title on my Cameo, I cut it twice in different colored pattered paper. I love layering the title.

I used the die cut numbers in the ephemera pack to label the photos; then I used the numbers in the Sticker Fundamentals to document the photos. List journaling is especially easy to use when documenting the busy time!

Layering the envelopes on top of the decorative bags and adding some die cuts and buttons is one of my favorite ways to embellish a page. And one final note: I used two different papers for my background because I didn't have two pieces that were the same, but I like the mixed look. I'm definitely going to do this more often. Happy accidents!

Hi everyone!  It’s Izzy Anderson on the blog today to share a few tips on scrapbooking multiple photos. I haven’t fully embraced Project Life – yet! – so when I have a lot of photos from a day or an event, I typically resize them to fit several on a  layout.

For this layout, I chose seven photos from a nature walk we took this Fall. One photo, I resized to 3.5 x 5 inches and the others I resized to 3 x 4 inches or smaller.

With this many photos, I tackled the often-neglected two-pager. While 12 x 12 inches is my go-to size for single pages, I find 8.5 x 11 pages easier to use for two pagers.  I chose a floral background paper from the Happy Go Lucky collection with a large green photo mat in the middle.

I started on the right side, choosing a focal photo of my son reading the map of things to look for on our walk.   I grounded the photo on a 4 x 6 page from the Collecting Moments Brag Pad.  The page had “Notes” printed at the top and I used that as my title block, adding in words, stickers and die cuts.

After I had the focal photo and title block in place, I arranged the rest of the photos, tucking in bits and pieces to fill in the layout.  

On the left side of the layout, I used another page from the Collecting Moments Brag Pad to echo the one on the right. Two small tags on the left counterbalance the large tag on the right and help draw the eyes around the layout.

Everyday Scrapbooking with Greta

Hello everybody!

Inspiration can be found everywhere and its fun to incorporate it into our layouts and projects. For my layout today, I didn't have to go any further than my photos. It's where I look most commonly when I'm just not feeling creative! I saw the bold orange and navy in my pumpkin photos and grabbed papers that matched. I added in the lighter blue to give some contrast and also thought this yellow corrugated paper had the rustic feel of my photos and would add a nice touch as the background for this double page spread. I created a basic background with the orange polka dot papers and then framed the left side with a horizontal strip of clock papers and a piece of ruler paper to create visual interest to lead into the layout. The round clocks give a bit of movement and tie into the round pumpkins in the photos. I then grounded the right side of the layout with a wide strip of navy paper.

I tend to be a rather linear scrapper so to break the lines and give interest I love to add icon shapes like this flower piece from the Ephemera Pack. I intentionally placed it so that it touched both photos as well as the border pieces in order to soften up that side of my layout. And to give it even more dimension and interest, I layered on some buttons from the Button Set.

For the other side of my layout, I did a couple of things to add interest and a bit of visual weight to balance out the larger photos from the left side. First I used one of the 4x6 pieces from the Brag Pad. These are really great, versatile pieces that work so well to layer other photos and embellishments on top of. This lighter blue connects the clock paper I used on the left side as well as the navy words at the bottom. To finish out the title, I used the rustic wood piece underneath the 4x6 piece to fill in the hole. I thought they worked really well together.

 

Finally, I added the multi colored arrow pieces from the Ephemera Pack to tie the colors of the layout together as well as pull the eye towards the photos and the main part of my page. The yellow button just gives a little bit of whimsy.

I finished it off with a journaling strip centered at the bottom. A pretty simple design but using papers and embellishment with purpose can make all the difference!

Everyday Scrapbooking with Céline

Hello everyone! 

How much do you scrapbook your everyday, beside Project Life? I tend to scrapbook my everyday as much as I can, with photos of our house, commenting my cats' funny poses on Instagram and then printing out those on paper.

Today, we're talking about our evenings. What are your evenings like? 

Mine are mainly TV. Though we don't watch tv shows (music, shows, reality tv), we always watch TV shows like Dexter, Breaking Bad, Homeland and such. We used to be hooked on Lost, our favorite show ever, but now that it's been over for a few years, we got into those shows lately and love them!

I decided to make this double-page layout using some cream Fancy Pants Designs elements as I wanted this layout to focuse on the black & white images on the left, but also to add contrast to my double-page layout.

I grabbed some high resolution images from the internet about my favorite tv shows, made a collage on Photoshop (you can definitely use The Gimp to make this!) and added a few elements (a flair, die cut and stickers) to this page, but not too much.

I gathered some clean and monochromatic elements at the top of my layout, to balance wiht my b&w photo page on the left.

The BIG alpha stikers (how I LOVE LOVE LOVE those stickers!) is a reminder/balance of the b&w pictures.

I added a cork heart to add a new texture/color to the page and drag the viewer's look right onto my page title.

I wrote my journaling directly on Photoshop and printed it on a 8,5x11 cardstock.

Everyday Scrapbooking with Jennifer

Hello! It's Jennifer Larson, sharing a page I made about my everyday life. I don't do Project Life for a variety of reasons, but I love scrapping my everyday life and I do so regularly. Since the beginning of June was a major shift for me and my boys from school to summer, I wanted to record the change.

When I do a layout that gives an overview, I print everything the same size, in this case 2.5 inches square. I put them on a template I made with Photoshop Elements and printed them on 4x6 prints.

I chose the collection Memories Captured because of the colors and the theme. The hues are sort of spumoni ice cream colors, perfect for summer, and the theme for the collection is memory keeping, which is perfect for anything dealing with Project Life or the everyday.

I tend to arrange my photos in a line--I'm a linear sort of gal--so to shake things up a bit, I decided to block it out as a sort of quilt. I left bigger blocks for title and journaling and planned on filling in the gaps with various patterned papers. (I generally take a picture at this point so that I can remember the layout just in case things get messed up--I scrap on a lap desk, so that is not unheard of.)

To add to the quilted texture, I decided to stitch between each patterned paper with white thread. It's subtle, but the texture added is nice.

In some of the patterned paper blocks, I added clusters of embellishments. The Memories Captured Ephemera pack is hands down one of my favorite embellishments ever! I used it a lot. Note: to create embellishment clusters, I try for three things: something flat (die cut/sticker), something dimensional (button/chipboard/raised sticker), and something textured (the stitching).

I adhered the journaling in strips, inking along the edges in a light green. Like with the embellishment clusters, I like it when the accents escape the block and overlap another element in the grid. I think it's more interesting design-wise.

My favorite part of the page: the title block. I cut the polaroid frame from the patterned paper called Cards, overlapping it over the awesome, awesome Viewfinder film from the Ephemera pack.

Hello everyone! Céline here with a brand new layout! 

I received my goodie box filled with Memories Captured and What a Wonderful Day from Fancy Pants Designs and all I can say is WOW. These two lines are just awesome, filled with beautiful and funky designs, along with amazing colors! Love them both!

I wanted to scrapbook about our little village fair - it happens once a year, during Summer, and friends and I usually go there to drink beers, play games and have fun! This is an event I won't miss in the world!

I printed small pictures, size 2x3", and made some kind of photo collage - and then built the design by starting on the sides (cut some paper strips and glued them on the left and right sides).

Hi!  Inspiration can be found everywhere, especially in our EVERYDAY LIFE. What inspires me every day? I realized that there is much that inspires me every day: my family, nature, my beliefs. These were just a few inspirations in my everyday life. I decided to use words that inspire me and reflect the inspiration from my family and nature. I decided to choose a quote that embraces words in my everyday life: LIVE SIMPLY, DREAM BIG, BE GRATEFUL, GIVE LOVE, LAUGH LOTS.   Here’s the layout created with the sophisticated and stylish Swagger and elegant Etcetera product: Swagger Paper Debonair / Swagger Paper Gentleman / Swagger Paper Gallant / Swagger Paper Powerful / Swagger Tape Stickers / Swagger Label Stickers / Swagger Sticker Fundamentals / Swagger Button Set / Swagger Rub-Ons / Swagger Ephemera Set / Swagger 6x6 Paper Pad / Etcetera Flair / Etcetera Patterned Photo Frames / Etcetera Label Stickers / Etcetera Brag Pad / Etcetera Decorative Paper Clips / Down by the Shore Paper Beachside / Black Corrugate Paper   The photos of my husband, Gary were chosen to reflect the words in the quote as well as the colours and tone of the Swagger paper. For me, the words on a layout must be pertinent and embrace the theme and tone of the layout. I used the quote from the Swagger Sticker Fundamentals which was matted onto the wood grain side of the Swagger Paper Debonair. The third banner created from Swagger Paper Gentleman was adhered with a foam strip to create dimension. An Etcetera Label Sticker was added to right side of banner and a Etcetera Decorative Paper Clip flag and natural string was added to finish off embellishment cluster. The exclamation mark Etcetera Decorative Paper Clip was added to the right banner and to join the next paper strip. Colours in nature always complement each other. As the photos reflect a calm and tranquil mood, the Swagger Paper needed to match this as well as embrace the natural and earthy colours of my husband fly fishing.   The embellishments reflect masculinity and the outdoor theme. The use of natural string, metal and Etcetera Flair accents were used to do this. The Swagger Rub Ons were used to compliment the earthy theme, to subtly introduce other colours and tie the elements together. Softer embellishments like the lace, pearl head pin and string were used to signify the magnificence and beauty of nature that surrounds and inspires us each day. The Etcetera Brag Pad was used to complement the Swagger Paper collection. The smaller designs on the paper in the Swagger 6 X 6 Paper Pad were great to work with the layout design. The Black Corrugate Paper added texture, depth and definition to the layout. The use of black pulls the layout together and ‘underlines’ important elements and draws the eye to the layout.   The quote was downloaded from the Silhouette Online Library and cut from Swagger Dependable and Swagger Gallant paper. Everyday Scrapbooking with Amy

Hi Fancy Pants Designs fans!  I am thrilled to be back to share one of my layouts with you.  This layout came about when we got a late snow storm this past year, and I grabbed my youngest two kiddos and headed out for some pics.  I love taking photos of everyday stuff like just hanging out and enjoying some winter weather.

I grabbed the Park Bench collection to create my layout. Even though it's a "spring themed line" the colors went perfectly with my pictures.  Here's what I came up with.
