FOCUS ON : Fancy Pants Designs SWAGGER line with Céline

Hello and HAPPY May 1st! I hope your day is filled with fun and sunshine today!

Today, on the Fancy Pants Designs blog, I would like to share with you my LOVE for the Swagger line. It wasn't love at first sight at the beginning, me being a scrapbooker in love with colors (I fell in love with the Down by the Shore line right away, for example!) and not in love with brown at all. But, what I love about Swagger is the vintage look, the distress edges, the fun designs and the humor you can see in some sentences! And, let's be honest, it is simply PERFECT for MEN's layouts! But not only!

Here's a layout I made using a kraft corrugated paper as my background, and then played with Swagger Brag pad papers to create the design of my layout.

The stencil helped me set my title, while one of my Brag Pad papers replaces my journaling.

I added a few rubons here and there on my Stencil, allowing me to play with more colors than what was on my layout therefore. I was amazed by the quality of the rubons too!

Play with some rubons, add a few drops of mists here and there - the more distressed it is, the more vintage it will look!

Who can resist such sweet mustaches?! :)

I love love love those sentences/words stickers - you can put them anywhere and everywhere!

Celebrate your husband, brother, son, cousin, uncle, friend with a layout or a mini album made with Swagger - they deserve it! :)

FOCUS ON : Fancy Pants Designs Brag Pads with Nicole

I tend to be a nervous scrapbooker. I get a brand new sheet of 12x12 paper and I get a little scared to make that first cut.  For this reason the Fancy Pants Designs Brag Pads are perfect for me since they come in a smaller, manageable (less scary) size.

I chose papers from the Etcetera, Down by the Shore, Trend Setter,and Swagger lines for this layout of my eldest son.  The colors work so well and made putting this layout together quick and easy.

 

I staggered the papers along the top of my layout and used one as my title block.

 

The ‘just a note tag’, photo frame, and small area where I placed the date are all elements cut from the Brag Pads.

Hello! My name's Kim Watson - I live on a mountainside with my sweet little family, in a beautiful seaside suburb just outside Cape Town. I started scrapping 'professionally' about 5 years ago, which means I get to work from home, which is a dream come true for me....no more rat race! Hi! My name is Glenda Viljoen and I live in Johannesburg, South Africa with my husband Gary and two sons, Byron and Kyle. Easy & colorful layout in 30 minutes!

Hello Fancy Pants Designs lovers! How are you ? I hope you're doing wonderful and looking forward to Spring as much I am! 

Today I would like to show you an easy, fast (30mns) and colorful layout! 

Here's what you'll need to create this layout...

Trendsetter Style Sheet paper / Down by the Shore Wave Rider paper / Swagger Humourous paper /  Etcetera Brag Pad / Artisan Edition Stencil 3x8 Pattern set / Down by the Shore Patterned Envelopes / Down by the Shore Rubons / Down by the Shore Tags / Park Bench Button Set / Park Bench Stickers Fundamentals / Etcetera Label Stickers / Tags / Mists / Washi Tape

First of all, layer two Brag Pad papers and an Artist Edition Stencil beneath your picture and glue everything on your background.

Mist some tags.

Glue the Envelope and add the tag behind it.

Layer the misted tags and adhere them on the right side of your photo.

Add some stickers here and there.

Embellish your layout with buttons, tape stickers and add some mist drops here and there (by opening the bottle and maing drops with the tip).

Your title is made using different Word stickers and alpha stickers.

Add your journaling, some sewing all around the edges of the layou and inside your background.

And voilà! :)

My name is Laura Craigie, but you can call also me Lulu if you like, I'll answer to both!  I live on a beautiful island in B.C. Canada with my husband of 9yrs and our three little boys who keep me on my toes.  I'm a stay at home mom by day and a paper crafter by night.  I have been scrapbooking for a little over 8 years and have been very blessed and amazed by this industry.  I love creating colourful projects with mostly clean lines, and I can't consider anything done till it's been run through my sewing machine.  When I'm not scrapbooking you can find me building Lego, chasing boys, searching for Geocaches, and dreaming of owning a dog one day.

My name is Becky Litz. My family and I live in a small town in the heart of the Canadian Rocky Mountains in Cranbrook BC. My hunny and I have two children. Our daughter Olivia (Livi) is 10 and our son Sullivan (Sully) just turned 2. They are of course the primary focus of my scrapbooking. I have been papercrafting since 2002 when I was expecting my daughter. I primarily scrapbook and make cards, but I have been know to make the odd mini album, home décor piece or mixed media canvas. I currently work at home and have a small dayhome. I look after 4 little boys who keep me on my toes! Scrapbooking is my PASSION, and I am so thrilled to be able to share it with you. My name is Vicki Chrisman.  I live in Nebraska with my husband Dan and our two terribly spoiled dogs.  We have two grown sons and are excited to  be adding a daughter in law in just a couple of months.  I have been a paper crafter for years, and love it even more now than when I first started. Hi everyone!  I’m Izzy and I am a Southerner from North Carolina. I grew up in a creative family who made things with their hands.  My Dad was a handyman and could fix anything. My Mom was a homemaker in that old-fashioned sense that you rarely see anymore.  At my Dad’s knee, I learned how things work. At my Mom’s elbow, I learned to cook and sew.  I’ve had various crafty hobbies along the way but didn’t start scrapbooking until my son was born in 2009.  I’ve been hooked on paper crafting ever since! 

My style is generally clean and layered, fun and cheerful.  I love to mix patterns and colors, adding a little of this, here and there.  I have a weakness for stickers and stitching and you'll usually find both on my projects.

I’ve been fortunate to have my work published in national magazines, including Paper Crafts, Creating Keepsakes, Scrapbooks Etc, Scrapbook Trends, CARDS, CREATE and Simply Handmade.  I am also a contributor to PaperHaus magazine and have projects in each issue. 

I am honored and thrilled to be part of this fabulous team!

My name is Amy Coose and I'm a transplanted Texan living in Northern Virginia.  I am thrilled, really THRILLED, to be on the Fancy Pants Designs Design Team.  I adore their products, and really appreciate Jodi giving me the opportunity to work along side such talented people.

I've been married to my hubby for 17 years and we have three fabulous kiddos, Austin who's 13, Georgia who's 11, and Davis who's 1 1/2.  I was a teacher before I had my kids, but now I am a full-time stay at home mom. If I'm not scrapping, I'm probably at the hockey rink.  My oldest plays travel hockey, so we spend all year on the ice.   

I've been scrapping since Austin was a baby, so that's over 13 years, and I love it just as much today as I did back then.  It has become a big part of my life, and I love looking back on all the memories I've preserved. My work has been published in several idea books, Scrapbook Trends, and Scrapbooking and Cards Today.

I am looking forward to a wonderful year filled with gorgeous Fancy Pants Designs products!

I am a happy mother to three energetic boys and wife to a fantastic, supportive husband. We live in Northern California, where I work as a professional dancer, teacher and choreographer. When not in the studio, I am in my craft room designing with everything from paper to fabric. Besides creating for my Etsy shop, Precocious Paper, I enjoy working for scrapbook companies, clubs and shops. My name is Jennifer Larson. I grew up in Maine and have lived in Minnesota since I attended college at St. Olaf, met my husband at the Mall of America, and settled down to teach English to high school students. I am the blessed, tired mother of two boys, a loveable shepherd mix, and a slightly neurotic but affectionate cat. Aside from being a full-time wife and mother, I also teacher high school students English.  

I started making cards in 1999, but I became enamored with scrapbooking when I was pregnant with my firstborn in 2002 and attended a basic scrapbooking class at my local scrapbook store. Hi! My name is Diana Brodeur. I live in Oklahoma with my two daughters. I work as an Information Security Officer at a local bank but my true passion is creating things whether it’s in the form of paper or food. I was introduced to scrapbooking in 2004 by one of my coworkers. I was instantly hooked and have been scrapping ever since! I usually scrap in the evenings when my girls are in bed or on the weekends. Now that my girls are older, they also love to scrap alongside me and even have a little stash of their own.

I have been blessed to be published in Creating Keepsakes, Scrapbook Trends, Making Memories, Creative Memories, and Scrapstreet.com Magazine.

Get to Know our Design Team members - part 4

Meet 3 new Designers today!

I live in Los Angeles, California with my loving husband, our two wonderful little daughters, and two sweet kitties.  My girls are the inspiration for all my creative projects . . . I call them my little ‘muses’.  I started scrapbooking in September of 2004 and I have been hooked ever since.  Scrapbooking is my hobby, passion and creative outlet.  I always say, “It’s cheaper than therapy!”  

I’m a very slow scrapper, often spending several nights on one layout.  I love to fuss over all the little details and get everything just right.  I would define my scrapping style as romantic with a touch of shabby chic, though I love to change it up from time to time and play around with different scrapping styles.  I’ve been a Creating Keepsakes Magazine Dream Team member for the years 2011, 2012 and now 2013.  I’m thrilled to be designing for Fancy Pants!!

Hi everyone!  I am so thrilled to continue on with Fancy Pants Designs for another year, hope you're not sick of me yet.  ;)  My main passion is scrapbooking, although my art journal and mixed media projects come in a close second. I also enjoy making cards and other home decor projects.  I have been scrapbooking for at least 12 years, although I was recently going through some boxes from my childhood and realized that I pretty much scrapbooked back then too. I was also lucky enough to inherit my grandmother's old scrapbooks recently, so I guess it runs in the family.  My style can only be called the "Pamela style"...not really defined by any other so called style. My style typically includes lots of layers and I love including techniques on my pages. I have been published in several different magazines, including Cards, Creating Keepsakes, Memory Makers, Scrapbooks and Cards Today, Scrapbooks Etc, Scrapbook Trends.

 I currently live in beautiful Colorado, and I am a stay-at-home mom to two wild boys, ages 10 (well...almost 10) and 8, and a 4 year old girl. They grow up so fast. I am enjoying life right now, even though it can get a bit chaotic.

Hi My name is Angie Gutshall and I'm a stay at home mom for 4 children Faith 7, Ty 6, Noah 3, Hannah 2.  I'm married to my high school sweetheart, Brian.  We live in the country in the central part of Pennsylvania. Scrapbooking for me is capturing our everyday moments on paper so my kiddos will have something to treasure when they get older. I started scrapbooking when my oldest was born, 7 years ago—I took one look at her adorable face and knew I was in trouble!  Photography is a passion of mine: In my family it's become a joke that if I don't have my camera something is wrong! 

I would say my style is clean & simple but with a shabby chic look too. I love color and love seeing it mixed together.  You’ll always see me handwriting most of my journaling so that it is more personable for my kids. I don’t just stop at scrapbooking and photography, either. Once I stumbled into mixed media, I found a new playground to play on.

I love to inspire people with my work and enjoy teaching others about the amazing art of scrapbooking. Let’s face it : you can’t beat scrapbooking for preserving memories.

Today, get to to know Alexes Brown and Jess Mutty ! 

Hi there! My name is Alexes Brown and I love paper. No seriously, I really love paper. I love it so much that I even love the smell of new paper… yeah I know, obsessed. I’ve been playing with paper since middle school and since then it’s become my greatest passion. I absolutely LOVE creating and I feel so fulfilled whenever I complete a project, or when I see the look on someones face when they receive a handmade gift from me. I mostly scrapbook in the traditional 12×12 format but lately I’ve been branching out to other formats such as Project Life, too!  Oh and I’m also a sucker for minibooks, there’s just something about them that I absolutely love. I’m a mommy to two busy little kiddos and my husband of 5 years loves to help me keep our little monsters from creating too much havoc.
