Hello everyone! I'm here today with a challenge to help you ring in the new year! My challenge is to incorporate sewing into your layout. I've created this festive layout that would be great for all those Christmas photos you probably just took as well as any New Years photo too. I've used stitching to create some vertical lines and cohesiveness in addition to a bit of dimension. Let's look at how it works!

To create this section of the layout, I lightly adhered some punched and cut out stars onto by background. I then just started stitching from the top down, in varying lengths, trying to go through the stars with my stitch.

 

After I tucked all the threads behind, I punched red paper with a couple of different sized circles and scattered those around the stars to create a bit more whimsy. I then added a bit of dots on a few of the stars with a white pen.

 

I finally added in a title to the larger star to finish things off.

Stitching is such an easy yet effective way to add that little bit extra your page! I hope you all give this a try.

Hi everyone, it's Amy here today to share with you a home decor project I made to celebrate the holiday season. I am sure you are, like me, extremely tempted to purchase some new decorations for this year, but how about a challenge to use what you already have?  That's what I did for this project, and here's what I came up with.

I was actually in my car backing out of the garage to go to the craft store to buy something for my project, when I caught this out of the corner of my eye leaning up against the wall and I knew it'd be perfect for this project.

 

I did have to buy some spray paint, but that was it.  

 

I grabbed the Merry Little Christmas collection and got to work.  I created a star garland which was super easy, then I set to work on my tags.  I used created the "j, o, and y" using my silhouette, and then created each tag with some layering and some of the awesome embellishments in the Merry Little Christmas collection. Here is the finished project.

Hey there my dear Fancy Pants Designs lovers!

Here we are today with a brand new challenge, inviting you to mix different lines! Whether it is all new lines that you'd like to try out, or some of your all time favorite lines from previous releases, you are more than welcome to mix different paptterned papers, embellishments and themes together on one layout!

On this layout, I used the two brand new Fancy Pants Designs lines, Timber Grove and BE LOVED, and added a tiny bit of Collecting Moments!

Don't be scared to mix different lines together! You might want to choose easy patterns to work with - lines, strips, dots, chevrons are patterns you can easily mix together so if doesn't really matter whether it is Winter or Valentine's Day inspired!

Morning Fancy Pants friends!

I hope you are having a super week & enjoying some beautiful fall weather? With the richness of Autumn leaves & trees heavy with color, it goes without saying that it would be the perfect place to go to for our design inspiration today! 

I chose to use the following images to influence my home decor project.

This type of project is not only simple to make but will be a beautiful addition to your Fall/ Thanksgiving decor. 

You will need the following supplies:

• Happy Go Lucky 6x6 Paper Pad
• Happy Go Lucky Ephemera Pack
•     Leaf & Flower dies
•    Die cutting machine ( I used the FUSE from our friends at Fiskars)
•    Ink if you are letter pressing your shapes
•    A creative dried branch
•    Brown & cream twine
•    Fishing gut
•    Glue
•    Tape

Let's get started!

1. Select some pieces of patterned paper.
2. Ink the letterpress plates or stamps
3. Die cut a selection of shapes, enough to fill three strands. NOTE: Where the shapes are symmetrical, adhere a shape on both the back & front.
4. Tie pieces of fishing gut spaced evenly along your branch.
5. Use decorative tape or pieces of Happy Go Lucky sticker strips to attach the epherema shapes & die cut shapes to your strands of fishing gut.
6. Use three pieces of colored twine to made a hang-loop.

Hello everyone!

This week, let me challenge you with a fun AND vintage challenge : let's use a photo of us as a KID and scrapbook a layout with it! :) What do you think?

I came accross this photo of my dad and I a while ago, even made an online class about scrapbooking our kids photos, and now I can't stop!

It's funny how easy it is to scrapbook our family, kids, husband and even our pets, but who can scrapbook US? Nobody scrapbooked our lives since we were a child so why not start today?!

The Collecting Moments line, just by its name, is perfect for this kind of layout - with a vintage feel but very colorful, this line is perfect for all of your vintage photos!

Mix your papers with a glassine bag to get more texture, add a tiny bit of mists here and there; a few sewing as well and your layout will be as precious as the picture you used!

Hello my dear Fancy Pants Designs lovers! 

How are you? Are you ready for Christmas? I am! Actually, I would love to go buy our new Christmas tree today, but it's still warm here in the South of France, so not sure I can find one!

Anyway, I have a new challenge for you today! How about making a layout with ONLY PATTERNED PAPERS? I created this layout using the Collecting Moments line, playing with patterned papers for my background, and adding a few embellishments here and there.

The background is a full piece of paper, that I cut into a 8,5x11 background, then I mounted my photo on top of another patterned paper. To make it pop from the background, I used strips of papers and tape stickers that I glued beneather the newspaper looking paper.

My Large Decorative tag was a little bit altered with water and mist to get a watercolor effect, and once dry, I glued stickers and die-cuts from the Ephemera pack.

Hello there my dear Fancy Pants Designs friends!

Here I am with a brand new challenge this week! Let's focus on one of my favorite Fancy Pants Designs line : Collecting Moments. Not only because the colors and designs rock, but because, like every other FPD lines, you've got this very interesting patterned paper that can open a new way of designing a layout, in a fast and unique way - the STRIPS paper.

For this layout, what I did is pretty simple : I printed 6 photos from my trip to Rome. I placed them on my background paper, following lines so that my photos are straight (I have issues with things upside down on layouts, I like having my photos straight), but as my pictures are 4x4, the bottom and top photos got cut. No worries! This creates a new look on my page, like if the design needed something at the top and bottom to continue in the design making.

Hello Angie here to share a fun challenge with you. How many of you love buying frames? How many of you love dollar store?  Well I love both!  I created these super cute home décor projects from just that.  First I want to share my finished projects and then I'll explain the challenge.

Now for your challenge, I want you to dig out a frame and alter it to be a beautiful work of art.  I started with these frames I bought at the dollar store.  It's amazing what a little paper and embellishments can do for a few plain frames.

 

I then added some patterned papers directly onto the frames.  After the papers, I added some embellishments like buttons, tags, frames, wood saying, ect.

I love how these turned out!  If you notice the fun "7" button in the small frame, it's perfect for our family of seven!

Don't be afraid to go out over and on the frame. Just have fun and be creative!

Hello everyone!! 

Today I'm here to challenge Fancy Pants Designs fans to USE YOUR PUNCHES!!  Ever since I became hooked on using my Silhouette, my punches have sat in their baskets collecting dust.  I thought it time to utilize some of my "forgotten" stash and put these awesome tools to work on a Project Life spread!  I used mostly papers and embellishments from the bright and cheery What A Wonderful Day Collection.

On the left side of my spread, I began by using a border punch to create lots of little "confetti" in various sizes.  I scattered these bits about my title block to add some color to the solid background.  In the two blocks below that I used border punches to create some fun accents from solid papers.   In the bottom right corner I punched two sizes of circles and sewed through them to create a cute little banner.  I added a fun element to the middle of the banner by punching another large circle directly on the 4" x 6" card.  I backed this with some patterned paper and then added a small word sentiment sticker.  

On the right side of my spread I used numerous punches as well.  I incorporated a fun tone-on-tone technique with stitching to create my own patterned background by added several punched white arrows in rows on the white 4" x 6" card.  I then layered my photo over them and added a small punched ticket to hold my subtitle. One of the center 3" x 4" cards I created holds a small punched circle border.  Finally in the bottom right, I added another punched border and some more punched "confetti".

Hello my dear Fancy Pants Designs friends!

How are you today??? I hope everything is doing wonderful for you! :)

I have a new challenge up for you this week! This week is Back to School week, remember? Well, even though I don't have kids (yet) which means, no photo Back to School related, I tried to think about a way to get school back into our own layouts.

How about writing (yes yes! writing! no computer here!) your journaling on your photos, and mix your handwriting with stickers???

Memories Captured Shining Star / Memories Captured Strips / Memories Captured Tape Stickers / Memories Captured Sticker Fundamentals / Memories Captured Decorative Bags / Memories Captures Button Set / Square Cork Shape / Cream Alpha Stickers / Down by the Shore Flair / Stencil Cards

On this layout, I layered most of my embellishments on top of my photo, as it is rather large. The way the picture was taken leaves me with some white space to write my journaling.

I used a permanent black pen here, and added some Memories Captured alpha Stickers for the name of that beautiful place.

The text forms a square that fits perfectly with my other "squares" on the layout : my enveloppe, my Stencil card, my Cork shape; and it looks almost like a quilt here. Elements gathering to create a fun design on the layout.

The house on the right forms my fifth "square" shape for a better design and balance.

Don't forget to outline your title with a black pencil to create contrast!
