Now, on to an amazing mini album by the amazing post by Kim Watson--something to get you going on this crafty weekend that I am certain you are all enjoying!!!
I am excited to be able to share another project using the amazing
As You Wish collection!
With the colours being so pretty... I thought I'd show you a fool proof way to whip up a cute, quick Spring mini book might get you into the spring mood. I love making mini books like this. Even though small & compact they capture a moment or event easily. Over the years, I have make a fair collection from different times, they fill a reed basket in the living room & I often find the children, family & friends sitting on the sofa, reading them.
There is something so satisfying about making a concertina mini book like this one, in that it only requires one piece of 12x12 paper to make the booklet. Yep...you read right, only once piece :)
Here is how to do it:
- Score a 12x12 piece of paper into x3 vertical 4" folds.
- Now cut the sheet horizontally at 6".
- You will now have x2 three page'd pieces.
- Join them together with a strip of patterned paper.
- Voila! a folded mini book.
Decorate your cover with layers. I used a doily,
chalkboard tag, ephemera, cake topper & Flair with the cutest results.
Notice my book closure? I cut patterned paper tab secured on the last page, with a paper 'loop' on the cover to slide it into once closed.
Printing the photos B&W help continuity and also compliment the fun color palette.
I love this collection...as I am sure you do too, so be sure to visit the blog all week to find more great inspiration from the NEW design team using the
As You Wish collection.
Before I sign off...I have a bonus freebie for you!!!!
Notice the wireframe titles I overlaid onto some of my photographs before printing? Well the great news is that I have converted them into cutfiles, as well as PNG's for you to use for your own personal use on your next Fancy Pants project!
ENJOY!
