Hello everyone! Today I'm going to share with you a tutorial on how to create a figured mini-album. For this project I used Merry Little Christmas collection and a few photos of my friend's daughter from their last New Year's celebration. First of all I die cut shapes from cardstock. For this album I used a star, a circle, a square and a label. Then I chose main paper that match my photos.
Some elements are seen from the front and from the back, that's why I fold a piece of patterned paper, glue it together and then cut. In this case it is not only neat but also thicker.
To create pages more interesting I usually make layers. For example, for my first page I cut a whole star and a half of it from different patterned papers. I glued a punched border to the half star and then to the main star, after that I cut off excess paper.
Usually, when I cut shapes, I make photo mats and find embellishments but not attach them to background. I usually cut photos with the help of die cuts as well if I have the size I need.
Next step is to adhere all backgrounds to cardstock on each side. Be careful when you have bottom and top of the page to combine it correctly.
Than I create holes for my future ring at the top of each page. After that I usually make it smooth with a tip of a brush.
Next part is my favorite. I create layers with the help of different embellishment, make it pop-up with some foam tabs and join pages together.
This type of mini-album is my favorite now. It's easy and pleasant to create and then to present to someone who is special to you.
