Hello, everyone! It’s Izzy here on the blog today to show you a fun way to turn patterned photo frames into Christmas ornaments.
Merry Little Christmas Patterned Photo Frames / Merry Little Christmas Brag Pad / Merry Little Christmas Sticker Fundamentals / Merry Little Christmas Label Stickers / Merry Little Christmas Ephemera Pack / Merry Little Christmas Button Set / Merry Little Christmas Ticket Roll / Merry Little Christmas Mini Christmas Trees Traditional
I have been eyeing these Merry Little Christmas frames with the idea of repurposing them. They are so festive that I hated to tuck them away in a scrapbook album.
After I chose my frames, I flipped through the Merry Little Christmas Brag Pad to find pages I thought would make a nice background.
To make the ornaments, I trimmed the Brag Pad paper to match the frame size. I stapled a twine hanger to the top of the paper, added pop dots, then adhered the background to the frame.
The Ho Ho Ho frame cried out for a Santa die cut and I found the perfect one in the Ephemera Pack. I added a chipboard button at the top to give the frame balance.
The next frame had the phrase, “under the mistletoe,” printed at the bottom. I thought it would be cute to add alphas to say: “meet me under the mistletoe.” On this frame, I used one of the little brush trees, first staining the tree trunk brown with distress ink. The trees are made from wires and are easily malleable. I flattened all the limbs at the back so the tree would lie flat then attached it to the frame using a gel medium.
For the last frame, I used a sentiment from the brag pad as the base. On the front, I layered a small tree button on top of a larger die cut tree. I used a ticket on the opposite side to add a bit of whimsy.
I can hardly wait to add these ornaments to our Christmas tree this year. In the meantime, I tested them out on a little pine tree out back. I think they’re going to be perfect!
We would love to see what you’re making for the holidays. Feel free to link your Fancy Pants Designs projects in the comments below or post them on our Facebook Page. Thanks so much for stopping by!
