Sketch Monday with Izzy

Hello everyone!  I’m Izzy Anderson and I’m delighted to start the week with you with Sketch Monday.  Today on the blog, I have a layout and card based on a simple sketch. 

I was inspired by the pretty Fall colors in the new Happy-Go-Lucky collection and pulled out a couple photos from a past pumpkin patch trip.  I resized the photos to 4 x 3 inches and created a sketch to use them.

I love using a negative space design, particularly with a patterned paper background.

The golden chevron pattern of the Sunbeam paper makes a perfect Fall backdrop. I softened the pattern a bit by adding softer yellows and blues on the page. 

In place of the middle photo on the sketch, I used a Polaroid journaling card from Memories Captured.  It was the perfect spot for my title, Fall Treats.

At the top of the page, I clustered together an upside down tag, stickers and die cuts for visual interest. I also used this area to pull in a bit of blue on this mostly monochromatic layout.

The card follows the sketch pretty closely with the wide band at the bottom at the tag cluster at the top.  I raided my Fancy Pants Designs scrap pile and used bits and pieces from Happy-Go-Lucky, Memories Captured, What A Wonderful Day and Swagger. I love the way it’s so easy to mix and match across the collections.

Have you seen the chalkboard sentiments from Memories Captured?  They are perfect for both cards and layouts. I pop-dotted the chalkboard card here and added a paperclip flag from the Swagger collection just for fun. I threw in a little cork heart too. Can’t resist those!
