I always love Autumn. It's the beginning of the holiday season, and the heat of summer finally gives way to the cool, crisp breezes that shake the leaves from the trees. Even though I can't experience the season, we always love celebrating the holiday here in South Florida! Halloween has to be one of the most fun holidays to create projects for! Not to mention all of the lovely treats to make, and the costumes? I loved putting together this small canvas to decorate our home for the season!

sewing machine, thread
To create this canvas, start by first covering your 8x10 canvas with gesso.
Adhere the patterned paper to the canvas and trim, leaving enough paper around the edge to cover the sides, and fold to the back of the canvas. Apply gesso to the edges and adhere.
To shape the corners, clip in with a scissors from the edge of the paper, almost to the edge of the canvas, but not quite. Fold one corner inside, and overlap the other corner outside. Secure with your favorite liquid adhesive. Allow to dry for a bit before embellishing.
Trim the printed transparency to fit the bottom edge of the canvas. Adhere with liquid adhesive.
Layer the chipboard hat over top of the same hat printed on the transparency. Embellish with two layered flowers glued together, and a small button added to the middle.
To create the broomstick: Clip a filter embellishment halfway across and accordion fold. Dab a small amount of liquid adhesive to the metal part of the paintbrush, and wrap the filter embellishment around. Tie a bow around with black ric rac.
Adhere broomstick to the canvas. Add the haunted sticker mounted on foam dots, and chipboard star with button in the bottom corner.
Layer the glittercuts and diamond rub-on in the upper left corner and add your letters.
Apply the love potion rub-on to an extra piece of smooth, white paper and cut out. Layer on top of the glittercuts.
To stick the banner pieces together, cut a piece of the edge of the chipboard packaging to layer beneath the middle, layer all of the pieces together, and stitch across.
Then adhere above the rub-on and adhere to canvas.
There are so many fun elements in this collection that it would be so easy to create a canvas of your own design as well! Enjoy creating for the holiday!

Mr Reiss says he has not been surprised by the victims. "People are much more discerning now about how they spend their money and you have to keep moving forward as a brand. If you don't have that sense of uniqueness or give customers what they want, you are going to struggle. You have to be adaptable and understand your customer. It's a tough world out there."~ ~ ~
