Hello and Happy Halloween! I want to share a Halloween page with you today. Halloween is one of my kids' favorite holidays. Costumes and candy, what could be better? ;)

Fancy Pants Supplies:
Oct. 31: Strip patterned paper
Oct. 31: Night patterned paper
Oct. 31: Jack O'Lantern patterned paper
Oct. 31: Chipboard Pieces
Oct. 31: Filter Paper
Oct. 31: Design Embellishments

Other Supplies:
Paper Crimper
Corner Rounder
Black Pen
Adhesive

Instructions:
1. Use Strips patterned paper as background.
2. Run 2 large and 3 small Filter Papers through paper crimper.
3. Adhere two large Filter Papers as shown.
4. Cut Night patterned paper to measure 9 x 7.5". Round corners. Adhere to background as shown.
5. Cut two strips of Jack O'Lantern patterned paper to measure 12 x 0.75". Adhere to page as shown, leaving 3.5" between them (to leave room for photos).
6. Adhere small Filter Paper (top one) to page as shown.
7. Print 3 photos that measure 2.5 x 3.5". Adhere to page as shown.
8. Adhere remaining 2 small Paper Filters to page as shown.
9. Place Chipboard Pieces as shown.
10. Adhere Design Embellishments as shown.
11. Journal with pen.

Tombow Blog Hop: Day 5

 

Of course, Halloween candy can be appealing on it's own, but why not make it a bit more fancy with the Oct. 31 paper line and embellishments? With the help of several adhesives from Tombow, these two Halloween candy projects came together quickly.

 

 

 

 

Halloween Party Favors

These party favor bags are a great size for filling with candy or a small gift for guests attending a party. You could also put each of the guests' names on the bags and have them double as place cards and party favors.

Instructions:
1. Cut the mini bag from patterned paper with a die cutting machine. If you don't have a die cutting machine, you could duplicate with small paper bags.
2. Secure edges of bag shut with Tombow Power Tabs.
3. Use Tombow Fastener Tabs to hold the flap of the bag closed.

4. Embellish bags with Fancy Pants Designs rub-ons, design embellishments and glitter cuts. Use Tombow Foam Tabs to adhere some of the embellishments for a more dimensional look.

 

Embellished Candy Bars

Instructions:
1. Trim paper to fit the width of the fun size and mini candy bars.
2. Trim the paper so that it is long enough to wrap around the candy bar.


3. Use the Tombow Power Tabs to hold the paper wrapped around the candy bar. No need for glue because these tabs are very strong and won't let the paper come undone.

3. Embellish with Fancy Pants Designs Oct. 31 rub-ons, ribbon, stickers, chipboard and glitter cuts. I used the Tombow Mono Adhesive Power Bond to attach the embellishments plus some Tombow Foam Tabs to pop a few elements up and add dimension.

4. Display the fancy candy bars in jars or candy dish.

Tombow Blog Hop : Day 4

I was super excited to learn that Fancy Pants was teaming up with Tombow. I love to be challenged to try new things and believe me ... this was a new challenge. I most certainly know how to use adhesives, but the Dual Brush Pens were a different story. The adhesives were excellent. I love how they held my projects together. The pens were a new adventure and I am happy that I got to play and learn how to use the Dual Brush Pens. After much doodling and playing around with these fabulous pens ... I came up with the following projects. Thanks Tombow!

On this crazy layout of our family's Halloween costumes, I used quite a few of the Tombow brush pens. I decided to create some fun embellishments using the pens as well as paper the Oct. 31 Collection. I had to mess around a bit with the pens to decide how I wanted my flourishes to look.

After I got the design down, I colored them in and traced them in black, to make them stand out and then cut them out.  When I placed them on my layout, I popped them up using the 3D Foam Tabs. This was a no brainer for me since I love to pop everything up. I also created the title using the brush pens and adding purple and orange to the black letters to make the title stand out more. Again, I popped up the title using 3D Foam Tabs.

As, you can see on the layout, I did some tracing and doodling around the picture and other embellishments. To adhere everything else, I used the Stamp Runner and Power Adhesive Tabs.

Aren't these girls just so stinking cute? I wanted everything to stand out on this layout, highlighting Blayke and London in their cute Halloween costumes. I popped up their pictures using 3D Foam Tabs and backed them on some of the paper from the Oct. 31 collection.

I then outlined the picture using the Black Dual Brush Pen. I added a bit of black on the boarders underneath the pictures using the Black Dual Brush Pen. I used the brush tip side of the marker to give it an inked on feel. I also inked the edges of the Filter Papers from the Oct. 31 Collection. Once again, this gave the effect of an inked on look.  See the cute little hearts in the center of the filter embellishment?

I made those using the brush tip end of the Dual Brush Pens. So easy to do. I watched the tutorial on You Tube under Tombow. I then popped those cute hearts up by using 3D Foam Adhesive. I wanted a boarder around my whole layout so I drew a line, using a ruler, using the Black Dual Brush Pen.

I created the title and journaling using the same pen. I added 3D Foam Tabs to the "Spook" part of the layout to make it stand out. To adhere everything else on my layout, I used the Stamp Runner. Wonderful adhesive might I add ... really stuck well to my project!

Tombow Blog Hop: Day 3

I am a big fan of Towbow products, and now I have found my new go-to tape runner, the Stamp Runner Permanent Adhesive. I used this adhesive on both pages, and love that it can now act as my paper adhesive, and replace my glue dots at the same time. So comfortable to use, and easy to use!  To be honest, I also loved it's design!

On the following page, I used the Fastener Tabs to create an envelope to tuck in my journaling. They are ultra strong, and can be pulled apart, time and time again. A perfect solution to seal envelopes, gift bags, journaling pockets! I was introduced to these last year, and was already a fan. I use these frequently, especially in mini albums.

On my next page, I used Towbow's Dual Brush Pens. They are perfect for coloring in images, or for journaling. They have two different size tips, so you can decide what you need for your project. On this page, I used it to simply ink my skeleton stamp on various places on my page. Sometimes, I do not seem to have the right color in an ink pad, but with the assortment of color choices with the markers, I am covered. Easy to apply, and the image comes out perfect.

To start this project, I cut papers to fit onto a paper mache box. I used the Tombow Power Bond Adhesive to adhere them onto the box. I then traced and cut out papers onto the wood haunted house. I adhered them to the wood house with the Tombow Power Bond Adhesive. I used the Tombow Power Adhesive Tabs to adhere the house to the front of the box. I decorated the front with chipboard pieces and design embellishments.

 
For the inside of the box, I added shredded black paper and faux candy. I made the faux candy bars by wrapping chipboard rectangles with foil and then covering them with paper using the Tombow Permanent Dot Adhesive. I made faux candy suckers by layering punched circles and filter papers and using Tombow 3D Foam Tabs to add a bit of dimension between the layers. The other candy pieces are rolled up paper with folded, fanned filter paper stuck in the ends attached with Tombow Power Adhesive Tabs. I also used the Tombow Pens to add a bit of detail around the house and box.

To make this door hanger, I traced and cut paper to fit the hanger and then adhered it with Tombow Power Bond Adhesive. I used the Tombow black brush pen to add faux stitch marks around the edge of the hanger. I added the bracket Design embellishment to the hanger with the 3D Foam Tabs.

To make the open and closed signs removable, I added the top piece of the Hook & Loop tabs to the “open” and “closed” signs and one bottom piece to the hanger. This way, we can choose whether we are open or closed for trick or treating!

Tombow Blog Hop: Day 1

Happy Monday everyone! We have a fun week planned for you with a blog hop with Tombow!

Everyday this week we'll have some great projects, created by our Pocket Chicks, using Fancy Pants and Tombow products!

Today, I get to share my projects with you. I absolutely loved working with Tombow's adhesives and markers. Take a look.

For this project, I used lots of the fun Off To School collection and a fun technique using Tombow's Dual Brush Pens to create my star accent.

To create your own star, here is what you'll need:
Artist Edition: Filter Embellishment
Artist Edition: Chipboard Alphas (leftover background)
Tombow Dual Brush Pens
Canned Air
Scissors
Sewing Machine

First, lay out your Filter Embellishment on a scrap piece of paper to catch any overspray (this technique is messy fun!). Then, lay down your leftover background from the Chipboard Alphas (or anything you want to use as a mask).

Using the canned air and one of the pens, spray the air over the brush tip end of the pen to splatter color onto the Filter Embellishment. (Check out this video, for a better description on how this is done).

Repeat with as many colors as you like, then remove your mask. Ta-da!

Next, hand draw a star on the back of the Filter Embellishment and cut.

Stitch the star onto your desired background (I stitched an Off To School Filter Embellishment onto a carstock circle, and then stitched my star onto it). Wah-la!

 

For my next project, I focused on Tombow's amazing adhesives! This is a doodle book for my oldest daughter, who LOVES to draw (Hmmm, I wonder where she got that from?).

Here's how I made this little book:
I adhered some of the Summer's End patterend papers to the of my blank journal book, using Tombow's Stamp Runner.

I ended up needing two sheets of patterned paper to cover the front and back (I just overlapped them on the back of the journal), leaving the excess to create the flap that will wrap around the front.
 


To create a curved flap, I simply traced one of our dinner plates and cut on the line.

For an artsy twist (after all this is a doodle book), I painted the inside flap with white acrylic paint. I then stitched the edge and stitched a loop of ribbon in place, to help with opening and closing the flap.

To attatch the Glitter Cut star and button, I used Tombow's Power Tabs. I wanted to use a super strong adhesive, since there will be a lot of tugging on this part of the book. The Power Tabs were perfect for this.

I also needed something to secure my flap, so I used Tombow's Hook & Loop Tabs ... perfect!

I finished off the cover with rub-ons and some doodling using Tombow's Dual Brush Pens again. Those pens are great for blending colors together and creating sweet little accents (like my little flower, done with the brush end of the pen!).

1 Product, 2 Ways: Oct. 31 Elements Stickers

I’ve been creating with the Element Stickers from the Oct. 31 line this week. I love finding different ways of using the same product. So when I got asked to use the Element Stickers in 2 ways I knew instantly what I was going to do.
I really have used the one product in 2 ways.

 

 

 

 

First of all I made this LO here.

 
I’ve used the patterned papers from the October 31 line as my base. I wanted to use the Element Stickers but give them a bit of life. Stickers are great, but can appear flat sometimes. So I’ve stuck these on to black card and then cut around to show a black edge. Some of the stickers I’ve just stuck down using double sided tape and some of them with 3d foam tape. I like seeing the variation of heights. You can see a close up here. The stickers now pop!

 
 Now I am left with a sticker sheet looking like this.
 


There are empty spaces where I have used some of the stickers on my first project. It’s the empty spaces that I’m now going to use on my next LO.

I have carefully cut around the used stickers. You can see the outline of where the sticker has been removed. This is where I have cut and this then gives me a new sticker. I’ve lightly placed this sticker onto the LO and then misted over it. The sticker can then be lifted and you are then left with this effect. They make perfect masks for misting.

 
I used some of the stickers from the ‘off to school’ collection. I separated these banners, stuck them onto white card and cut them out. By punching two holes into each flag I’ve been able to thread some twine through and turn them into a string of bunting. They’ve been stuck down with 3d foam tape.

 
I also used a part on the scalloped edge border sticker to stick on the page and mist over. This gives a great effect. The sticker can still be used. I ended up using it on the bottom of the first LO above. The mist has given it a great shimmery look.

It really is possible to use the one sheet of Element Stickers in 2 ways : )

Here I've used the little hearts. I also love the Chipboard elements, the hat is just too cute!"

Yuka sats, "Chipboard Elements added the feeling of vintage by cutting down with the sandpaper and jetting the mist. Moreover, I made a small banner by using the Chipboard Banners as a template. I am expressing depth in the layout by using them behind Chipboard Banners and doing masking. Chipboard is the best for the three-dimensional layout."
