I don't know about your traditions, but in Norway, when a youth gets confirmed, we have a celebration and he or she is usually showered with gifts, usually jewelery or money. Instead of the usual card+money tucked inside, I figured I'd create this box with pockets for the money. This box also held a smaller box w/a pair of cool cufflinks I found at Etsy.
Supplies needed:
patterned papers from Like Father Like Son collection
tag
black cardstock
Instructions:
1. Create a basic box from the instructions found here. I chose to do only one layer, using cardstock.
2. Measure all the parts of the walls, lids, etc - and cut pieces accordingly. I wanted to leave the black cardstock underneath as an natural edge for my box, so I cut my pieces slightly smaller than the measured areas.
3. For the inside walls I needed pockets where the money to the recipient could be slid into. I used my sewing machine to sew on the pockets before adhering the pieces to the cardstock-walls.
