Welcome to another Sketch Monday! Mondays are, well, Mondays... and that usually means I need a kick start to get my scrappy mojo flowing. And there's nothing better than a sketch to get your creativity going!
This week I played with the bold colors and fun designs of What a Wonderful Day.
What a Wonderful Day Paper Superb / What a Wonderful Day Paper This Way / What a Wonderful Day Paper Wonderous / What a Wonderful Day Paper Remarkable / What a Wonderful Day Paper Strips / What a Wonderful Day Sticker Fundamentals / What a Wonderful Day Tape Stickers / What a Wonderful Day Label Stickers / What a Wonderful Day Patterned Photo Frames / What a Wonderful Day Pennants / Etcetera 6x6 Paper Pad / Etcetera Flair / Artist Edition Vacation Stencil Cards
The patterns on the paper are geometric and so I made my design with lots of geometric circles and rectangles. The large outer circle is a great way to ground the three smaller embellishment clusters so they don't look like they're "floating" in space.
I created the title area from a coordinating frame, a painted Artist Edition title block, and two different colors of solid paper under the words. I like the focus the title has with all the flowers, flags, and a bit of twine.
And here is the sketch I created for you from my layout. I think it's pretty versatile and would work with pretty much any photo!
I also created a card from my sketch:
I turned the design on it's side so the long mat of patterned paper is horizontal and at the bottom. But you can definitely see the placement inspiration that I drew from this sketch. The circle is smaller but still anchors three distinct embellishment clusters.
The title area moved into what was the photo on my layout but the focal area is still at the bottom left with lots of little layers.
Thanks for joining me today and I hope you have had a spark of inspiration!
- Jess
