Happy New Year to all Fancy Pants Designs followers! We are well into the second week of the year and, as always, I'm a bit delayed in touching base! I have been very anxious to announce who will be working on our design team this year, and with CHA right around the corner, and new faces popping up on the blog, I wanted to be the first to make the 'official' announcement! Before that, I want to say a big thank you to last year's team for ALL of the excellent work they did and shared on our blog, in our booths, and everywhere else ... they truly were awesome to work with! And, for this year, we have some familiar faces and some new faces to add to our amazing group and I couldn't be more thrilled! So, without further rambling from me, here is the 2012 Fancy Pants Designs Pocket Chicks!

Introducing...

Hello Fancy Pants Friends, Fans and Followers!

I am excited to share a new little 'idea' we've been thinking up for a while now! After selecting our new design team, having some creative meetings and just plain wanting to have more fun at Fancy Pants Designs, we came up with a fancy new team name along with a fun little mascot and some really fun concepts and weekly events that involve you--our loyal fans (if you wish, of course)!! We have had quite the time getting all of our individual ideas pulled together and put onto paper...but, the end result is exciting for us (can you tell by all the exclamation points in my post here? :))!! So, before I get into the drawn out details, here is the unveiling of the all new Fancy Pants Pocket Chicks (technically, this is just a handful image of our team of 25--if I get to count myself as a lucky member :)) but you get the idea!

We have big plans for the Pocket Chicks---(a few Fancy Pants originals, along with the amazing designers we just added to our family last month)--PLUS, the Pocket Chicks will be intent on involving you in our fun, so be sure to stay tuned in the upcoming weeks to see all of the creative things we'll be doing--especially those things that will involve YOU and YOUR creative Fancy Pants Designs projects! We'll be offering a new place for FREE downloads, Fancy Pants Fan Blinkies, YouTube Tutorials (and entertainment) and more so be sure to visit often...or, even better, join us as a Fancy Pants Fan on Facebook to receive regular updates and information of what is going on with us! 

As the founder of Fancy Pants Designs, I just want to say thanks for your continued support of our products! I've had the experience this year to travel and teach more than I have in the past, and I have really enjoyed the experience of meeting so many wonderful scrapbookers, to hear their stories, and to find such inspiration in the way they use our products! I'm always busy thinking of what we can do next to really make our lines a favorite among scrapbookers worldwide, but I also want to be sure to share my designs and love of this hobby with you...so you can expect me to drop in now and then with a few posts of my own! Thanks for listening to my excitement about our new Pocket Chicks--we are ALL looking forward to a fun and fancy 2011 and hope you'll join us often!!

Announcing the Fancy Pants Design Team!

Finally..I know...how slow can I be in getting this info out? It has been quite an experience going through all of the amazing entries received for our design team call...and we are so excited to share the new team with you, but first, I would really like to take a minute to thank our amazing team of the past year (and then some)! They were truly inspiring and amazing ladies to work with...and, if they are willing, you will still get to see some of their amazing work right here on occasion!  (Ania, Jolene, Stacey, Ronda, Kay and Nikki)

Design Team Update

Due to the large amount of EXCELLENT entries received, we are still reviewing and making our final decisions. We appreciate your patience and your hard work in applying for our team - we have so much to look forward to!

Creative Team Call

Are you creative and full of ideas? Do you love to share your ideas, techniques and inspiration? Do you want to become a member of one of the most creative scrapbook design teams? Fancy Pants Designs is accepting CreativeTeam Submissions. We are looking for a minimum of 6 new designers Domestically and 2 Internationally.

Submissions will be accepted until Wednesday, September 15th @ MIDNIGHT (MST), 2010.

 

Please send the following in low-res .jpg or .pdf format (we may request hi-res images later) to megan@fancypantsdesigns.com:

1.  Three of your best layouts as well as One miscellaneous project of your choice. This could be another layout, a home decor item, a set of cards or tags, an altered item, or anything creative you would like to share!

Note: it is not a requirement that your submissions use strictly Fancy Pants products, but it doesn't hurt to include it in there, as we are trying to find designers that will show off our Fancy product!

2.  Please include a paragraph that answers the following questions. Why do you think you would make a great Design Team member? Do you feel that you can give inspiration, technique and encouragement when sharing your designs? Do you challenge yourself with new techniques on a consistent basis?

3.  Include your name, email address, & full contact information.

4.  Include a list of current design teams & scrapbook communities (forums, message boards) in which you are active in. You may also include an online gallery link and/or resume if you have one.

Design Team Requirements:

- 3 New designs submitted per month, one blog entry per month (one of the three projects can be used for your blog assignment), and additional designs for display at trade shows (these are extra during show times and require the use of 100% FPD product for booth display).

- Each month, your designs must be emailed to our design team manager for tracking~ even if posted on the blog.

- You will be required to upload and share your designs & techniques on our blog & website.

These are our basic expectations, more details will be provided if you are chosen or If you have any questions, please feel free to email megan@fancypantsdesigns.com

Benefits:

Receive a big box filled with new Fancy Pants products (before they hit the store shelves) on your doorstep with each release!  You'll always receive way more product than needed to fulfill your assignments.

Publication compensation plan for all of our creative team members!  

Creative Team members will be selected on or around September 24th.  We look forward to seeing your work!

 

Scrapping to Breathe

Our very own Brenda Hurd was recently on Good Things Utah. She demonstrated how to make a beautiful frame for your children's school pictures and shared her passion for helping find a cure for Cystic Fibrosis. You can watch a video of Brenda on Good Things Utah at this link. Brenda is organizing a Crop called Scrapping to Breathe, to raise money to help find a cure.
