Sketch Time: October Card Challenge

Hello again friends! I missed you last week, but I'm back and ready for the month of October (I think)! It's going to be a fun month ahead! I wanted to thank EVERYONE for their participation in our September Sketch challenge ... it was so fun to see all of the different takes on one simple sketch—and congrats to our winner, too! We saw some brand new product as well as some of our 'older' products pop up ... that is always fun to see the mix of supplies that our fans are using!  

For the month of October we have World Card Making Day ... yay! So, our sketch must be a card sketch, right? Right! I actually designed the card a while ago using our Summer's End collection and I liked how it turned out—simple, yet sophisticated—so I thought it made for the perfect sketch—there is so much you can do with this one and I can't wait to see what you come up with! Layers are really hip right now, so layer it up on this one!



Plus, we're working with Operation Write Home this month to collect cards for our soldiers, so please consider participating in that as well (we'll have more details on the blog this Saturday)! We are very blessed to have brave men and women fighting for our freedoms day in and day out!

September Sketch Challenge Winner!

Sketch Time Inspiration!

Happy Thursday everyone! Have you heard about our monthly Sketch Challenge yet? The sketch above is our September sketch and we'd love to have you join us in the challenge! Pamela says, "I added a bit more embellishments to the sketch, but other than that I followed it pretty closely. I LOVE this fun collection (The Good Life). I combined it with the awesome white corrugated cardstock and it made the color on the papers just pop! Another product I just LOVE are the new Artist Edition Stencil Cards, they are a great addition to any page!"

Piradee says, "I love the sketch that Jodi provided, the possibilities to create with it is just endless. And for my layout I wanted to create a balance between the white space and being able to incorporate all the different elements. Using the Summer Soul collection, I first started cutting various pattern papers for the center piece and also created a fun confetti envelop in the middle. Then using the rub-ons, I added the faux stitching to the sides and cut out the flower to be used as an embellishment. Then finally, using my silhouette machine I cut the title for the layout with one of the pattern papers; to complete the layout. Be Happy!"

Jess says, "I immediately knew when I saw this sketch that it would be perfect for a page featuring my baby girl's birth announcement. The design is simple and keeps the focus on the photo area. My 5x7 card was already a collage and it had plenty of detail so I didn't want to overwhelm the page with lots of embellishments. And it was super excellent that the Hopscotch line perfectly matched my announcement colors!"

Home by Vicki Chrisman
Vicki says, "I love the Country Boutique line and thought that I would choose papers from the line that were monocromatic in color. I like how the subtle colors and patterns are so beatutiful, but still keep the focus on the photo."

Sketch Time!

We all love sketches ... they give us a good starting point for creating that perfect page and save us a lot of time worrying about balance and details, right?  So, we're going to be focusing in on a sketch or two each month and hope you'll join us by being a part of our monthly sketch challenge! Not only do you have a full month to share your pages with us on our Facebook page, but you'll finish a great page while you're at it ... oh, and be entered to win our sketch winner prize!  

As with all sketches, feel free to change things up a bit, move things around and make it your own ... this is just a starting point ... we've included a touch of inspiration using features from this sketch as part of a Brag Book project!

2 Peas Project Challenge

In case you haven't heard, Two Peas in a Bucket is having a challenge on their website, featuring Fancy Pants Designs! All you have to do is create a project of any theme using at least 50% Fancy Pants products that must include Be You and/or Childish Things collections. Fancy Friday Challenge: December Daily Albums

Happy day after Thanksgiving to all of our US friends! It's Fancy Friday time again. What better way to kick off the holiday season (besides some Black Friday shopping) than to get going on a December Daily Album?

This is your challenge: Create a December Daily Album using at least some Fancy Pants product, post photos (your album cover and at least 2-3 pages/spreads) of it to your blog or online gallery, and leave a comment on this post with a link so we can see your lovely creation.

Fancy Friday Challenge: Cards

Welcome back to another Fancy Friday Challenge! Tomorrow is World Card Making Day and we want to celebrate! Join us in our challenge to create a greeting card. Here is what you need to do to enter.

Simply create a greeting card with any theme that you'd like—make sure to use at least some Fancy Pants products—and post it to our Facebook Wall between now and Oct. 8, 2011.
