Hello dear Fancy Pants fans! Today I'm going to show you how to create a magnet photo frame and to reuse some stuff. I'm absolutely in love with the idea of upcycling and try to use this possibility every time I can. Here's what we get:
The picture above doesn't show a dimension of this frame. You can see it here:
So, now I show you a step by step tutorial on how to create this photo frame.
Step 1 As a base I used a piece of cardboard 4x6 inches and as a photo frame - an empty scotch spool. First, we need to cover the edges with white gesso. I used wide nylon brush for that.
Step 2 Then I prepared two stripes of patterned paper for the frame 1/2 inches each, cut 2 anchors on my Silhouette machine and adhered them together for more thickness. Then I cut my photo using circle die and chose embellishments.
Step 3 For the front and back I prepared same pieces of paper 4x6 inches. Then I cut two pieces of different paper - 3 1/4 and 3 inches height and 4 inches wide, placed them together and draw a curve, then cut it.
Step 4 Now it's time to adhere them to our base. On this stage I also rubbed the images and glued the anchor.
Step 5 I adhered the photo first and then applied glue exactly in the middle of the spool to be sure it wouldn't be beyond the edges. A photo is 1 mm larger than the frame, but in my case it doesn't matter much because of the b/w photo.
Step 6 On the final stage I simply adhered a piece of magnet tape to the back of the frame. I also used a corner rounder and then carefully applied a gesso on the edges.
Now it's time to add more embellishments. I used a flair button with a crab.
A photo frame with a magnet is finished. To create it you will need not to much time and you can surprise someone :)
Enjoy your time creating something for you or your family!
