Welcome to the very first Layout Lift—a new regular post we'll be doing here on the blog! Today I am sharing a page I scraplifted from another Pocket Chick. Piradee Talvanna's layout from her "getting to know you" interview really struck me as simple but so very fun. I loved the dimensional pennants and the bright colors of Summer Soul. SO fresh!
My layout is a pretty close lift, design wise. I used Time for Spring and some neutrals from Country Boutique and created a more masculine page.
I chose to stitch around each of my flags and keep them flat. I exchanged the filter paper flower for a more masculine accordion circle and switched up the title placement a bit. But ... there is no mistaking that this is a scraplift! My black and white photo looked great with the cool greys from Country Boutique and I love how the colors from Time for Spring pop.
I used bits and pieces of chipboard from other lines as well. So many of the recent Fancy Pants Designs collections can be mixed and matched to get exactly the look you need.
Thanks to Piradee for the inspiration here. Like sketches, lifts can really get your mojo flowing. The end result can be very close to the original or look absolutely nothing like it by the time you are done, but it is a jumping off point either way.
Thanks for taking a look today!

I really love how the ribbon pennants create a mat for the photo! Multiple color use and the stitching make it much more of a visual treat! Beautiful!

I love this lift! Your choice of color and pattern are perfect for a masculine layout and I love how you sewed the ribbon pennants. The black and white photo was a super idea. It doesn't conflict with the colors around it. Wonderful layout!

I believe that all of the changes/additions made added to the overall visual of this layout. The papers choice softened the look, making the black and white photo pop. The stitching not only defined the flags, it cleaned them up, keeping them from being a distraction to the photo. The extra elements added, simply completed the layout. Very, very nice! I look forward to future Layout Lift posts. Thanks for the addition!

Both are beautiful LO's. Love the stitching and layering of the pennants, the B/W photo of the boy looks great on the LO.

I love the banners! Great mix of colors and patterns without being overwhelming! And that you changed you pic to b&w to not interfere with all the yummy colors in the LO!
Thanks!!!
