With quilts being all the craze right now I thought I'd try my hand at quilting with paper.
My first page, 'Happy Day' using the Childish Things collection is what I call landscape quilting where I designed a structured background as the base for my page. To secure the loose pieces of shaped patterned paper before stitching, I used the E-Z dots repositionable runner. This allowed me to adjust the paper placement as I stitched them making sure they lined up perfectly. To make my little blue starry clouds, I used the Childish Things filter embellishments but needed to strengthen them. I solved this problem by covering a piece of cardstock with Power Tape with Dispenser, then pressed the filters on top before cutting out the x2 cloud shapes.
When assembling my page I made use of tons of 3D Foam squares, layering them in different heights to create interest to my page.
For my next page, 'Childhood Up's & Down's', also using the Childish Things collection , I used my quilted triangles of patterned paper laid in vertical rows to give the overall feeling of up & down movement. Again I the E-Z dots repositionable runner was great to secure the paper pieces, enabling me to shift & nudge them until they were perfectly spaced, before machine stitching in place. My quilted background became the perfect base for my page. I used the different directions of the 'arrows' to help my title feel like it is going up & down.
Again I used plenty of 3D Foam squares to raise my elements off the page, doubling up sometimes for extra height.
Thank you 3L for your allowing me to play with your amazing adhesive products. They made working on these Fancy Pants projects a breeze!!
