Everyday this week we'll have some great projects, created by our Pocket Chicks, using Fancy Pants and Tombow products!
Today, I get to share my projects with you. I absolutely loved working with Tombow's adhesives and markers. Take a look.
For this project, I used lots of the fun Off To School collection and a fun technique using Tombow's Dual Brush Pens to create my star accent.
To create your own star, here is what you'll need:
Artist Edition: Filter Embellishment
Artist Edition: Chipboard Alphas (leftover background)
Tombow Dual Brush Pens
Canned Air
Scissors
Sewing Machine
First, lay out your Filter Embellishment on a scrap piece of paper to catch any overspray (this technique is messy fun!). Then, lay down your leftover background from the Chipboard Alphas (or anything you want to use as a mask).
Using the canned air and one of the pens, spray the air over the brush tip end of the pen to splatter color onto the Filter Embellishment. (Check out this video, for a better description on how this is done).
Repeat with as many colors as you like, then remove your mask. Ta-da!
Next, hand draw a star on the back of the Filter Embellishment and cut.
Stitch the star onto your desired background (I stitched an Off To School Filter Embellishment onto a carstock circle, and then stitched my star onto it). Wah-la!
For my next project, I focused on Tombow's amazing adhesives! This is a doodle book for my oldest daughter, who LOVES to draw (Hmmm, I wonder where she got that from?).

Here's how I made this little book:
I adhered some of the Summer's End patterend papers to the of my blank journal book, using Tombow's Stamp Runner.
I ended up needing two sheets of patterned paper to cover the front and back (I just overlapped them on the back of the journal), leaving the excess to create the flap that will wrap around the front.
To create a curved flap, I simply traced one of our dinner plates and cut on the line.
For an artsy twist (after all this is a doodle book), I painted the inside flap with white acrylic paint. I then stitched the edge and stitched a loop of ribbon in place, to help with opening and closing the flap.
To attatch the Glitter Cut star and button, I used Tombow's Power Tabs. I wanted to use a super strong adhesive, since there will be a lot of tugging on this part of the book. The Power Tabs were perfect for this.
I also needed something to secure my flap, so I used Tombow's Hook & Loop Tabs ... perfect!
I finished off the cover with rub-ons and some doodling using Tombow's Dual Brush Pens again. Those pens are great for blending colors together and creating sweet little accents (like my little flower, done with the brush end of the pen!).

I didn't even know that tombow sold adhesive. my friend has their pens, but i didn't know about the glues.

Loved seeing you reuse the alpha chipboard pieces. I actually re shared this idea on my blog, if that is not okay LMK. But I had to show all my friends the way to reuse since we are always trying to think of ways to use that last stitch of ribbon.
