Snow Angels by Amy Peterman
Amy says, “I trimmed around one of the snowflakes on the background paper with a craft knife, and then tucked the bracket paper under the snowflake before stitching it down. I love the effect. I also love many uses for the Cards paper! I used one card, for my title and one card for my journaling.”
I Love Quilts by Amy Peterman
Amy says, “Some of the Hot Chocolate papers have a homespun feel to them that remind me of some of the quilts I have. So, I created a layout about my love for quilts. To play off the theme, I used one of the floral patterns from the Cards paper and stitched a 'quilted' grid on it. I then inked the thread to emphasize the stitching.”
Sledding Fun by Brenda Hurd
Brenda says, "I loved the warm colors in this line. I cut the snowflakes out on the Silhouette with the Glistening Snow paper and sprayed them with silver glimmer mist. I also cut the bottom half off of one of the stickers 'Walking in a winter wonder land' and stitched it under the picture."
Stars by Vicki Chrisman
Vicki says, “This time of the year always gets me thinking about home décor. Maybe it’s because we spend more time inside, but I love having something fun and new to set out and enjoy. The gorgeous color combos of the new Hot Chocolate line just had me wanting to create a home décor project. All you need are these beautiful papers, wooden spools, dowels, stars, a glue gun, some Fancy Pants Buttons, and some fine glitter.
Start by adding your choice of papers to the stars, and smoothing out the edges with some sandpaper or an emery board. (Add strips of a variety of the papers to the spools also). Using a glue pen and fine glitter you can highlight areas of the paper design and the edges of the stars. I used a small paint brush and a wet glue to add glitter to selected areas on the dowels. All you have left to do now is adhere the dowel to the spool and then add the star, using hot glue. Embellish with Fancy Pants Buttons.
These would work great on a mantel or maybe as a table centerpiece with some votives.”
Warming Up by Cindy Tobey
I love the richness of color and texture in this collection! Many of the papers have a canvas or fiber texture in the printed design that adds beautiful depth. I added lots of machine stitching to my page, I even stitched over the brown lines in the "Sweater Weather" paper to intensify them. I also cut out some of the paisley shapes from the "Chocolate Swirl" paper and clustered them with buttons, brads and stickers. I've had these photos of my son enjoying a mug of hot chocolate for close to a year now and this new collection is just what I needed to scrapbook them!
Winter wear by Greta Hammond
Greta says, "The colors in this line are amazing! The papers work so well together...very versatile! I added just a bit of punch to the layout by using some foil on raw chipboard. A quick and easy way to bring in some different texture and accentuate the papers even more."
Wasn't that yummy Hot Chocolate? Thanks for stopping by today and be sure to come back tomorrow for our Product Spotlight with Greta Hammond!
