Is Halloween brewing around your house like it is mine? The kids are so excited already and wondering why we don't have many decorations. The main reason is because we moved a few months ago and i don't want to take the time to find my decorations. So i set out to make some. I combined a few different lines in this project, goes to show how versatile each line!

Kraft Kuts Stickers (Green/Blue Alpha)
Other supplies:
cardstock
silver spray ink
foam adhesive
black jute
frame (I created my own, but you could buy one or use an old one from around the house)
sewing machine
Instructions:
1. I hand cut the moon from the Hodgepodge (yellow) paper, stitched it to some sturdy cardstock and machine stitched around the edges. I sprayed with silver spray ink.
2. I cut different sizes of circles to create the bat. I used a 6" circle of the Big Guy paper from Like Father Like Son for the wings and cut it in half. I then used a 1 3/8" circle punch to create the inverted scallop along the straight edge. Making sure to offset a little so the scallop wasn't perfect.
3. I then glued the wings to black cardstock and cut them out.
4. I cut the other circles to make the head and body. The body is 3", the head (black) is 1 3/4" and the inner circle is 1 1/2", and the ears are made from a 3/4" circle cut in half. I used foam adhesive under the head to give it some dimension. I sprayed all pieces with the spray ink then added the brads for eyes and the black button for his nose/mouth.
5. After I figured out where i wanted to glue that bat, I added the rub-ons from the Trick or Treat line and the EEEK! using the Kraft Kuts stickers. I then wrapped the moon with black jute then glued the bat on, again using foam adhesive for the wing that was on the moon.
6. I created the simple frame using old barn wood and then glued the moon to the top of the frame.
The kids were pleased to see something other than the usual pumpkins and leaf decor lying around—finally something a little bit scary!

Very cute.
I'd like to know where you got the black jute? I was in Denver last week and saw some used on several projects @ Archivers. However, they have none. Called 6 around the country to no avail. Tried stores on the internet. Only thing found is hemp-and there is none hairy fibers on that.

the black jute is from Studio Calico - not sure on the manufacturer, they just sell it in there store - lots of colors - hope that helps.
