Back-to-School time means many things for many people, but for me this year, it is bittersweet. My oldest is starting Kindergarten! While I'm very excited for him because I know he's ready, I'm also a little sad because my little boy will be leaving me every day, and I know I'll miss him! To bring a little Kindergarten cheer into our home, I made this frame to showcase a photo of him on the first day of school next week (the picture shown is from his pre-school graduation, and I will swap it out once I get some first day photos!)
Supply list:
Frosted: Winter's Chill patterned paper
All Fall: Penmanship patterned paper
All Fall printed chipboard alphabet
All Fall printed chipboard shapes
1. To start, I purchased an unfinished frame from my local craft store.
2. Next, I chose two different patterned papers - one to cover my frame with and
one to cover the backing with (most of my products were from Fancy Pants' school
themed, All Fall collection). I used adhesive to attach the papers, and I then
sanded the edges to give them a roughed up look.
3. Next, I attached my photo to the backing, placed the glass on top, and put it
back in the frame. I then chose the chipboard letters that I wanted to attach
to my frame. You could adapt this project for any occasion! I used heavy duty
glue dots to make sure my letters were secure.
4. Lastly, I chose some chipboard embellishments to attach on top of the glass and
around the frame. You can add your own personal touch to keep the frame simple
or add lots of fun embellishments.
I can't wait to display this in our foyer with a photo from my son's special first day of Kindergarten! Happy frame making! :-)
